Choose the microbial test that matches your concern.
Select Actino Dust® for actinobacteria testing or Cyano Dust for cyanobacteria testing. These are two separate laboratory analyses — choose the one that best matches your environmental investigation.
Actino or Cyano?
Start by identifying which microbial group you want to investigate.
Select Actino Dust® or Cyano Dust
These are separate laboratory tests. Compare their targets and intended applications below, then select the appropriate test from the WooCommerce product options.
Actino Dust®
Select Actino Dust® when your environmental investigation is focused on actinobacteria in indoor dust, particularly in relation to water-damaged indoor environments.
- Quantitative actinobacterial DNA analysis
- Species-level microbial information
- Actino-focused score and interpretive context
- Indoor dust sample
- Relevant to water-damaged-building investigations
- Standard laboratory turnaround approximately 5–7 business days
Cyano Dust
Select Cyano Dust when your environmental investigation is specifically focused on cyanobacteria detected in indoor dust.
- Quantitative cyanobacterial DNA analysis
- Species-level reporting where technically supported
- Identifies taxa with documented toxin-producing potential
- Indoor dust sample
- Focused cyanobacterial environmental analysis
- Clear quantitative laboratory reporting
In the WooCommerce options, first choose Actino Dust® or Cyano Dust. Then select your preferred sampling kit.
Actino Dust® vs. Cyano Dust
Both tests analyze indoor dust, but they answer different environmental questions.
| Feature | Actino Dust® | Cyano Dust |
|---|---|---|

Which test should I choose?
Start with the organism group you want the laboratory to analyze.
Concerned about Actinobacteria?
Select Actino Dust®. This analysis focuses on actinobacteria in indoor dust and is particularly relevant to investigations involving water-damaged indoor environments.
Concerned about Cyanobacteria?
Select Cyano Dust. This analysis focuses specifically on cyanobacterial DNA detected in the submitted indoor dust sample.
Choose. Collect. Receive your results.
Select One Test
Choose either Actino Dust® or Cyano Dust according to the microbial group you want analyzed.
Choose Your Sampling Kit
Select the available Swiffer or Vacuum collection option associated with your chosen laboratory test.
Collect & Submit
Follow the supplied instructions to collect representative indoor dust and return the sample to EnviroBiomics.
Receive Your Report
Receive laboratory results specific to the analysis you selected — Actino Dust® or Cyano Dust.
Choosing between Actino Dust® and Cyano Dust
Are Actino Dust® and Cyano Dust the same test?
No. They are separate environmental DNA analyses. Actino Dust® targets actinobacteria, while Cyano Dust targets cyanobacteria.
Which test should I choose?
Choose Actino Dust® when the investigation is focused on actinobacteria. Choose Cyano Dust when the investigation is focused on cyanobacteria.
What does Actino Dust® cost?
The current product configuration lists the Swiffer Kit at $245 and the Vacuum Kit at $260.
What does Cyano Dust cost?
The current product configuration lists the Swiffer Kit at $245 and the Vacuum Kit at $260.
Does Cyano Dust measure cyanotoxins directly?
No. Cyano Dust detects microbial DNA. Identification of a cyanobacterial taxon with documented toxin-producing potential does not demonstrate that a toxin was produced or is present in the submitted dust sample.
How much dust is needed for Actino Dust®?
The supplied Actino Dust® information recommends approximately 10 mg of dust for Swiffer collection, with visible dust accumulation on the cloth.
How long does Actino Dust® laboratory processing take?
The current source information lists approximately 5–7 business days for standard laboratory turnaround. Confirm current options when ordering.
Actinobacteria or Cyanobacteria?
Select Actino Dust® if you want actinobacteria analyzed. Select Cyano Dust if you want cyanobacteria analyzed. Each option is a separate laboratory test.
