  • Additional information

ERMI Plus ENDO provides a broader view of your indoor environment by combining the ERMI Mold Test with an Endotoxin Test in one comprehensive environmental testing option.

The ERMI + ENDO combination brings together two complementary
environmental tests. ERMI uses DNA-based analysis to evaluate selected mold species
in dust, while Endotoxin testing provides information about bacterial endotoxins
present in the submitted environmental sample.

What Is the ERMI Plus ENDO Test?

This combined environmental test evaluates mold and endotoxins to provide
additional information about an indoor environment. Rather than evaluating mold
alone, it examines two different environmental factors using complementary
laboratory methods.

What’s Included?

  • ERMI Mold Test – DNA-based analysis of 36 selected mold species
  • ERMI Score – calculated from the mold concentrations detected in the sample
  • Endotoxin Test – laboratory analysis for bacterial endotoxins in the submitted sample
  • Quantitative laboratory results
  • Detailed environmental laboratory report

ERMI Endotoxin Test: Why Combine Both Analyses?

The ERMI Endotoxin Test combination provides information about
two different environmental factors. ERMI evaluates selected fungal species,
while Endotoxin testing evaluates bacterial endotoxins.

Combining both analyses provides a convenient way to obtain a broader view of
the submitted indoor environmental sample.

What Does the ERMI Mold Test Measure?

The ERMI Mold Test uses DNA-based analysis to quantify 36 selected
mold species in dust. Results include individual mold concentrations and an ERMI
Score that provides additional context about the mold profile detected in the
submitted sample.

What Does the Endotoxin Test Measure?

The Endotoxin Test measures endotoxins associated with the outer
membrane of certain Gram-negative bacteria. The results provide environmental
information that can complement mold testing when a broader assessment is desired.

Who May Consider Combined ERMI and Endotoxin Testing?

This combination may be considered when additional environmental information
is desired, including investigations involving:

  • Current or previous water damage
  • Moisture intrusion or damp indoor environments
  • Concerns about indoor environmental quality
  • A need for information beyond mold testing alone
  • A broader assessment of the indoor environment

ERMI vs. Combined ERMI and Endotoxin Testing

The standard ERMI Mold Test focuses on selected mold species
detected through DNA-based analysis and provides an ERMI Score. The combined
testing option expands the environmental assessment by adding Endotoxin analysis.

If your primary goal is to evaluate the mold profile of an indoor environment,
the standard ERMI test may provide the information you need. When additional
information about environmental endotoxins is desired, ERMI Plus ENDO
provides both analyses in one testing option.

Important to Know

Environmental laboratory results provide information about the submitted sample.
Detection of fungal DNA does not by itself confirm active mold growth or identify
the source of contamination.

Endotoxin results should also be interpreted within the context of the building,
sampling conditions, moisture history, visual observations, and other relevant
environmental information.

Environmental testing does not diagnose medical conditions. Questions regarding
symptoms or personal health concerns should be discussed with an appropriate
healthcare professional.
